Pastor Bob Petersheim and Cindy welcome you:

“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1Co 3:11

Welcome to this introduction to the Conestoga congregation. Since the New Testament call to follow Christ has day-to-day impact beyond simply intellectual belief, we aim to encourage and equip one another to daily represent (or “re-present”) Christ to others by our words and deeds.

Because none of us are fully transformed, we acknowledge that we fall short of this goal consistently. Rather than this reality bringing judgment or despair, we invite God’s Holy Spirit to recreate us through confession that faces truth and releases grace. Because we recognize our salvation as unearned gift, we commit to extending grace to others who  also fall short of their God created potential.

We find that joining hands in this journey, though challenging, is a much more fulfilling way to live than any alternative offered by cultural values, or religious tradition.

Although we aim to not be bound by our faith tradition, we do seek to “honor our fathers and mothers” of the Anabaptist Mennonite heritage who sought to live in obedience to the teachings of Christ; so it can “go well for us” as is the “first commandment with promise” (Ex. 20:12). Our passion is to be relevant to our generation by partnering with Christ’s kingdom agenda for our community and world. We sometimes speak of this goal as “living His story.”

You are welcome to explore with us how we might better build upon the foundation of Jesus Christ.  For we know that the insights, energy, and presence of others releases growth mechanisms built into His body!
